The Milk Workshops at Cheese 2015 will feature conferences and events in the Biodiversity House dedicated to those who choose to live and work in the mountains…
Mountainous areas are marginal, difficult and inaccessible; but also home to a wealth and diversity of knowledge, cultures and traditions that can help provide clues as to how to deal with the future.
The conference program will delve into topics such as animal welfare, the diversity of breeds and products in mountain pastures, and the consumption of meat, milk and dairy. We will talk directly to stakeholders from the industry, along with veterinarians and professors. There will be a specific focus on Spain, the host country of this year, with events discussing the situation in the country and some of the challenges facing the dairy herders, producers and farmers.
- Where: Cortile Palazzo Garrone, Piazza Caduti della Libertà
- When: every day at 2 pm and 4.30 pm
Two further conferences will be held at separate locations: one will bring together mayors from different mountain towns and another will delve the trade agreement between Europe and the US that poses a threat to local production and food security.
