The cream of the world’s cheeses, including many rare specialties, will be on offer at the Great Hall of Cheese at Cheese 2013.

Of the 150 cheeses available for tasting, 50 will come from this edition’s guest region, the British Isles. The best examples from the United Kingdom and Ireland will be joined by the finest Italian and international cheeses, taking visitors on a unique journey of flavors and fragrances. The Slow Food Presidia from Italy and the rest of the world will of course be present, representing quality products made using traditional methods in unique ecosystems, protected and promoted by the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity.

Thanks to the collaboration of the Bra Celiac Association, the Great Hall of Cheese 2013 will also be offering gluten-free products to accompany the cheeses.

The cheeses can also be paired with 800 wines, selected from the wineries that below to Slow Food’s ProgettoVino. The Enoteca will be pouring this selection of the best of Italian wines, made by producers who share Slow Food’s commitment to promoting winemaking culture. Highly trained staff from FISAR, the Italian Federation of Sommeliers, Hoteliers and Restaurateurs, will be on hand to recommend the best wines to pair with your cheese plate.

ProgettoVino unites wineries that want to work with Slow Food to further enological culture through education (with the Master of Food), promotion (with the Enoteca during the major events) and support for the preservation of the historical memory of Italian wine (through the Banca del Vino).

The Great Hall of Cheese and the Enoteca are located under the porticoes of Corso Garibaldi. Entrance is free, but vouchers must be purchased for cheese and wine tastings.
